Chesapeake, Virginia-based Dollar Tree, Inc. issued a press release via Form 8-K current report that it will extend a $2 per hour wage premium for hourly-paid store associates and distribution associates for an additional week, through Saturday, July 18th.
In an initial response to the COVID-19 crisis on March 25th, Dollar Tree announced the $2 per hour premium effective for its Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores from March 8th through April 4th. The benefit has been extended several times since then, reaching an estimated cost of $130 million through this past Saturday. The latest one-week extension will cost an additional $7.5 million.
